Let's all take a moment to laugh at Texas Tech

Because as badly as our game went today, theirs might have gone worse. Some comments from Tech fans on r/CFB tonight:

>In-depth post game review for Texas Tech: same [Craig James], different day

>We don't deserve Patrick Mahomes. Our defense is embarrassing. Our o-line is (mating between Steel & 2314) awful. How could they let mahomes get blown up like that on the hail mary. I miss Deandre Washington.

>Welp. In the last 6-7 years, outside of a couple games, it's been like watching the same game over and over.
We show up, play good ball for a quarter or two, and then someone will do something mind bendingly stupid. The stupidity becomes contagious and we keep making the same mistakes over and over. Someone shoves a QB down 5 seconds after the play.
Maybe the defense gets a couple of stops. Then their endurance is exhausted and they flail around for the rest of the game with little effort, thought, or direction. And then we lose. It's been a continuous and uninterrupted clown show on that side of the ball since 2009.
Now, we are doing it with a QB that would be the Heisman frontrunner for another team, tragically and typically. I'm sick of it.

>I just love feeling pain.

>Both teams lost. TTU lost harder

>At least we aren't Rutgers?

>100 Penalty yards that's bad.

>Our offense is only as good as our offensive line and I'll tell you what folks, it ain't a very good one.

>What's the address for the football department? I've got a few big boy belts I'd like to mail their way since they seem to teach no discipline.

And my personal favorite:

>I am broken.
The AZ state game did it. I just catch watch us not play defense anymore. I can't do it. 17 years since undergrad I can't do it. We don't change. WE sorta do but we don't.
I haven't watched since the ASU game. I sort of watched tonight. We were at a wedding (who the (What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together) gets married in the fall??) and I watched while at the reception (long story why there were TVs around).
And I honeslty... I am just empty. (What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together).
I know, Iknow. New DC every year for the past 8. No consistency. You guys.
(What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together) that. (What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together) you. (What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together) me. (What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together) everybody.
I can't do this anymore. It's not just the defense, the lack of tackling. It's the penalties, too. It's clear coach bro can't instill discipline. He just wants to play madden with his QB recruits.
(What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together).
It's 12:15 am. We're back at the hotel. And instead of sleeping I am whinign at a bunch of internet strangers.
(What Maniac & Illini Frog Do together).
This isn't about losing. This is about how we play, and how we refuse to change. I don't know if I can't keep this sadness inside me.

For whatever reason, many of my Tech brethren (as I got a degree there as well as from TCU), have completely lost the ability to have a realistic perspective regarding the ability and historical achievements of the program.

It's the main reason I hardly ever post on RaiderPower anymore. They act like they challenged for the title every year Leach was there and that clearly wasn't the case. They talk up every new assistant hire until the same results creep in and then act like they never wanted him in the first place.

Some are finally starting to realize that Tech will always be a middle of the pack mediocre program but most still think they should be competing for the Big 12 title year in and year out. Only way that happens is if the campus actually moves from Lubbock.

All that said, I think they beat us this year. The only things they're good at this year are the exact things we're bad at...gonna be another 56-53 game I feel.

I'm not willing to laugh at anyone else the way we have played this year. Go Frogs!

Let's not. In 3 weeks I'm afraid Mahones is going to push our boat in for 4 quarters.

Seems silly to poke fun at any team right now. Just bad karma. And unearned bravado.

Also, of course they had a worse day than us - they lost.

Laugh now, but the way we look they'll kick the living carp out of us...
I'm not for laughing at anyone but they have their issues, we play them at home, and their defense is worse than ours. We lost close games to OU and Arkansas and had our annual head scratcher against KU. Hope it's out of our system.

Mahomes is so good. He is just earning national respect because of their additional performances.

Looked to me like Mahomes just tired out.  He had a bad shoulder and it looked like he struggled to put anything on the ball in the fourth quarter.

And we Frog Fans all know how bad a bad offense can make you look (2012, 2013, 2016).

Hopefully we will get the offense in gear this bye week.  I still have faith the defense will be OK, as it has been the second half of the season every year but 2004.  But I am beginning to doubt the offense.  Not enough history with these OC's, just two years and this.  Most teams who run this offense are able to reload, with includes trying all the options at QB....don't know about these guys.

At least it doesn't look like we will lose either on after this year.

This is why a win is a win. Half the fan base of collegiate football woke up this morning feeling like yesterday was the Battle of Megiddo. I'm guilty of it too but this year I am trying to enjoy wins more and lament losses less.

When everyone thought we could compete in the NFL two years ago we struggled with Kansas, a last second FG at WVU, 4 point win over a mediocre OU and a collapse at at Baylor and we were still in the playoff talk until they couldn't stomach a TCU in over an Ohio State. So, of course a win is a win. They all count.

The whining is strong on KFC.

Tech fans trolled us relentlessly before and after we joined this conference. Some of you need to lighten up and have a chuckle or two. Screw tech all the way with a red hot poker. I laughed my arse off and didn't think twice about it. Made me feel better.

Also, Mahomes is a talent no doub but he has some serious Mayfield traits. Specifically he seems to scramble just to scramble looking for the big play versus running the play as designed. When it works it is spectacular and that is all anyone remembers. It also leads to critical turnovers and tackles for loss which the OL gets blamed for.

Yeah this is the gripe many seem to be starting to have, that he looks for the heisman like play far too often...holding on to the ball too long or as you said in regards to scrambling. Mahomes is definitely a talent but I think their backup could actually run the offense better.
