Could Texas A&M baseball be the program that finally poaches TCU’s Jim Schlossnagle?

BY DREW DAVISON|

If Texas A&M offers the head baseball coaching job to Jim Schlossnagle, TCU officials are bracing for him to accept it, according to sources.

Schlossnagle has flirted with other jobs in the past such as Mississippi State — and likely would’ve headed there if offered the position — but has always returned to TCU. That may change this offseason.

Schlossnagle could not be reached for comment on Monday and had not been formally offered the job by A&M as of Monday afternoon. But he has been considered one of the top targets for A&Msince it parted ways with longtime coach Rob Childress.

Schloss might leave but this smacks of a Drew Davidson space filler. There are no other articles related to A&M on the brink of offering Schloss, especially after he said a week ago in response to the A&M job he had no interest.

Anything can happen, people can change their minds, especially after their national seed team completely flops but I am not taking this too seriously right now.

And if he wants to go, then see ya.

Could some enterprising entrepreneurs and journalists start a relevant Fort Worth newspaper people would actually purchase and read?

No

Really hope he stays. He built this program from scratch. Would be weird for him to turn down UT and Miss St then leave for aTm. He should know he is greatly appreciated at TCU.

What coaches, other than Bubba Thornton, have left TCU and then done better than they did here?

very good question if bubba truly did better when he went to texas or if he merely was able to take advantage of the greater amount of resources he had available to him at texas

he had a team finish 3rd in the ncaa's at tcu and did that once at texas and had a 2nd.
